LifeLines Spring Conference - Saturday 28th April 2012

Doors open 10.00 a.m., conference starts 10.30am and finishes 5 p.m.

The next LifeLines conference will take place in the beautiful and historic city of York, and we shall be welcoming Scott Bass as our speaker. Please note start time of 10.30am, with the conference beginning with meeting in state groups. The day will also feature discussions on topics of interest to LifeLines members and time to meet old and new friends.

Scott Bass is interim Executive Director of Murder Victims’ Families for Reconciliation (MVFR), having spent several years beforehand as North Carolina Coordinator for the organisation. MVFR works closely with murder victim family members who oppose the death penalty, helping them make their voices heard and educating the public on responses to murder that better serve their needs.

From 2006 until 2010, Scott helped operate Nazareth House in Raleigh, which provides hospitality, friendship and other support to families of persons on death row. He has worked closely with these families before, during and after executions. He also works the Capital Restorative Justice Project which promotes responses to murder that address harms without doing additional harm.

Scott’s other experience includes working as a therapist with individuals and families who have experienced traumatic loss and working on nearly every level of efforts to end the death penalty in the United States. He is a passionate advocate for victims of violence and for restorative justice.

The Priory Street Centre is located in the centre of the city, very close to the mainline station, which has direct services to and from London, Edinburgh, Manchester and Birmingham. The venue is fully accessible. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available on arrival and during the afternoon break. There are cafes, pubs and shops very close by, or you are welcome to bring a packed lunch.

We recommend you book in advance. However, you may pay on the day as long as there are still places available. LifeLines will issue everyone who books in advance with a confirmation slip which you need to bring as proof of payment.

Refunds will not be payable unless the conference is cancelled, in which case all those who have booked will be informed.

Conferences are open to everyone, and friends and family of members are warmly welcome.
